Jealous of the Universe
Words by Clint Collins

She wakes up, first thing
and then checks that off her list
She says it's love but it might be obligation
Cuz she's out the door a goodbye kiss
she blames the sky for her rainy situation
I think we're close enough but she has to be exact
Cuz if the sun ain't shining, then her heart's under attack
She wants to have it her way
to have her cake and eat it too
she wants the world to fit in her plan
like a foot inside a shoe
she wants it to be perfect be it a blessing or a curse
she can't really help it she's just jealous of the universe
Two different means to the same ends manipulation but she says she's being subtle
but if different means we're wrong then nobody wins
what are we doing if we can't meet in the middle
I'm trying to slow down she's running from the cops
I hand her my umbrella but she'd rather dodge the raindrops
She wants to have it her way
to have her cake and eat it too
she wants the world to fit in her plan
like a foot inside a shoe
she wants it to be perfect be it a blessing or a curse
she can't really help it she's just jealous of the universe
She can't really help it
She can't really help it
She can't really help it
And it comes out when we talk
She can't really help it
She can't really help it
She can't really help it
She's just human after all
