Cave In

Cave In
-words by Clint Collins
May 15, 2012

Destruction has been my theme
Self-pollution has been the dream I dream
With no regard for the right or the wrong
I left a path of deprecation every where I’ve gone, oh oh

But when I look up I can see your arms open wide

When I cave in, I come running to you
There is nothing, that on my own I can do
With everything to gain, and nothing left to lose
I come running, and when I cave in, I give in to you

Isolation has been my goal
Independent thinking cost me my soul
With no regard for failure or success
I built a fortification and gave it my best, oh oh

But when I lay down my arms,
you’re right there by my side

When I cave in, I come running to you
There is nothing, that on my own I can do
With everything to gain, and nothing left to lose
I come running, and when I cave in, I give in to you

This song needs a title

I'm taking suggestions. Give me your thoughts on what the title should be. We'll turn this thing into a contest! The winner will win.

She was then but then is over
cuz it’s gone like yesterday
He is not yet but he will be
 if forever comes our way
We are right now. In this moment where we are,
we are right now.
Time is just a way of saying
when and where we ought to be
There’s no purpose in delaying
what you want to say to me
We are right now. In this moment where we are,
we are right now.

And everyone I’ve ever met is broken,
and every plan I’ve ever had has failed

But I see hope and redemption in your eyes
And I’ve fought battles and wars in disguise
And I’m amazed and relieved that I survived
But can it still be called a miracle….if I’m not surprised?

So tell me, can this statement ever really be true?
If the battle is impossible, can I leave it up to you?
We are right here. In this moment, where we are,
we are right here.

And every place I’ve ever seen was just pretending,
and every song I’ve ever sung was out of tune

But I see hope and redemption in your eyes
And I’ve fought battles and wars in disguise
And I’m amazed and relieved that I survived
But can it still be called a miracle….if I’m not surprised?
